Dallas Cowboys Tickets- Romo In, Jones Talks Playoffs
After week 10, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in a curious position. They started the season as Super Bowl favorite and have since dropped to 5-4 and third place in the NFL East. They have lost four out of their last six match-ups. Some of the team's recent problems, however, can be attributed to the loss of quarterback Tony Romo to a broken pinkie that happened during the Cowboy's game against the Arizona Cardinals in week six. Well now Romo is reportedly going to be back in action for the Cowboys as they head into the last stretch of the season. The Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones, recently spoke to the press about his team's chances of making the playoffs and left no room for doubt that he assumed his team would make it.
He also answered questions about cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones and coach Wade Phillips. According to Jerry Jones, Phillips's job is completely secure despite speculation of the contrary. As for Pacman Jones, Jerry Jones said he would love to have Jones back on the team if he is reinstated by the NFL. Before coming to the Cowboys, Pacman Jones was involved in a dozen incidents requiring police presence and was arrested six times. At that time, the league suspended him indefinitely, and Jones had to work hard both at his attitude and in the community to be reinstated. The Cowboys took a chance on him, but an alcohol-fueled altercation with his assigned body guard at a hotel landed Pacman Jones back in hot water and out of the commissioner's good graces. After the incident, he was suspended by the NFL and entered an alcohol treatment center.
Although the Cowboys had lost two out of their last three games even before Romo got hurt, the star quarterback was having a more than decent year. He started off the year with a passer rating of 103.6 during week one against the Cleveland Browns. The next week, he was 21 of 30 for 312 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and a passer rating of 123.2. Despite the overtime loss to the Cardinals during week six, Romo's last two games prior to the injury had his rating of 100. He was 14 of 23 for 176 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against the Cincinnati Bengals during week five and 24 of 38 for 321 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions against the Cardinals.
Luckily for the Cowboys, two out of their next three games should be softballs for Romo. After facing a tough 6-3 Washington Redskins, they host the 2-7 San Francisco 49ers during week 12 and the 2-7 Seattle Seahawks during week 13. They finish out the regular season with games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and their NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles, who they are tied with in their division as of week 10. One thing is for sure, it will certainly be an interesting end to the season for the Cowboys no matter what the outcome.
